The development trend of the common dimmer is mostly applicable to the dimming of the thermal radiation source. The dimmer structure for gas discharge lamps is rather complicated. For example, the fluorescent lamp dimmer adopts variable impedance circuit or changing the input voltage to adjust the light, and the dimming range is too small. If large power transistors or field effect tubes are used and electronic ballasts are used, the dimming performance of fluorescent lamps and other gas discharge lamps can be greatly improved, and the range of light adjustment can be increased.
